The Calibration of Gravitational Acceleration Wave Buoys/Transducers

The operational principle is showed in the Flowchart of Wave Buoy Calibration bellow.

The Calibration Device was developed by NCOSM. Be composed of a double-round truss, a driving and braking system, a data collecting and control system, and a frequency motor-speed control and power supplying system, this Device provides a calibration environment for wave buoys by simulating sinusoidal waves.

This Device can be used to calibrate the gravitational acceleration wave buoy / transducer.

The Calibration of Tide Gauges

The operational principle is showed in the Flowchart of Tide Gauge Calibration bellow.

The Calibration Device of Tide Gauges was developed by NCOSM. It providing the calibration environment by a steel water tower with 1m diameter thick and 9.5m tall, the Device can reproduce water head from 0 to 8 meters. The variation of water level in the tower can be precisely controlled and measured by applying a CCD photo system and a laser ranging system.

The Device has been using to calibrate float tide gauges, pressure tide gauges and acoustic tide gauges.
